The city that this movie takes place in the suburbs of genus Paris, France. The buildings look akin Riverpark Towers with a constituent of stairs and balconies to jump to and from. Which is obviously the livelong point of the movie. The city seems dirty and grimy. It reminds me of SoHo in New York City. Paris and New York City are revered as very important but the upkeep of them int as beautiful as you would think. In SoHo the streets had trash everywhere and there was a smell of sewage constantly. Looking at this movies delin ejection of Paris makes me think the upkeep of SoHo is the same of what it is in Paris. This city is strengthened like a fortress in more ways. The whole problem with Banlieu 13 is that there is a lot of drugs, violence and crime. To try and stop this, the police go through built walls with barbed wire and ca-ca check points where people have to stop to define in or out. This almost makes this partition into its own civilization because there is no police come across in it so everyone is in a dog eat dog world. A fortress reminds me of a castle. Because this city is adjoin by walls it not only shuts people on the alfresco out, but also keeps people on the inside from overtaking out. There are a lot of obstacles to overcome in this movie.

One of the first scenes is when Leito is in the apart custodyt building and the men are coming after him and chasing him because he stole cocain from Taha, the drug lord. He uses parkour to escape the men. He would run on the walls, jump from building to building, jump down staircases, and went over the rooftops of Paris. Although there were physical obstacles like buildings there were other types of obstacles too.
