LDOE estimates it should take each teacher about cardinal weeks to establish learning goals. In that time, teachers will likely wish to develop an initial goal, conduct a diagnostic to verify the goal is grounded in where students are starting, and receive feedback from their principal or principal designee. Principals or principal designees, including assistant principals, master teachers, and early(a) veteran educators, should approve teacher goals for students. LDOE recommends these goals be established and O.K. by the end of the first quarter of each school year.
