In high school the
essays that students are given are simple structured essays, essays
that do not require one to have a deep knowledge of the topic of the
essay as one progresses into the college level the essays are intense
and require that the writer has a deep knowledge and understanding of
the topic at hand. If one is not able to understand the topic and
know, what it is all about then at the college level such a person
has failed then paper already.
When the topic is given by a tutor,
the tutor expects that the student will learn all he can about the
topic as possible so as to be able to attack the essay correctly.
Research on the topic is therefore a very important aspect to writing
a good essay paper. A clear understanding and deep-rooted knowledge
of the topic will help the student be able to express all that the
topic wants to see addressed. The first step into writing a good
essay in college is first research and after research, the writer
should sit down and make a draft or a plan on how to put all that
random information into the essay.
An easy that is too easy is not
the best topic for college essay
as the students’ will not have any need to research and that means
there will be no one who will learn anything from the essay. The
topic should be carefully chosen before it is given to the students.
Students tend to feel threatened also if the topic is also kind off
complex and find it difficult to understand it and therefore opt to
have the work down by someone other than himself or herself.
