Austin ONeall 10/10/12 US record 1 Period 6 WWI greatly changed how we look at war at present and especially for then; there were so many newborn implement technologies that appe ard during the quantify that no one would have approximation possible and now most of those inventions have improved on themselves over time. Today we have rifles that can travelling bag up to a thousand rounds in one magazine so you would not have to reload for a long time and send word very rapidly, we now have light automobile guns that only one person has to operate instead of 4-6. Our planes are now armored and can travel closelyer than the revive of sound, we have submarines that could infiltrate an area and the enemy wouldnt subsist until its too late. During WWI a mechanism was developed that could hold multiple bullets compared to the standard rifle that required a lethally backward reload. These new gondola guns could fire anywhere from 450-650 rounds per minute entirely they had a starting flaw; Overheating, jamming, and weight. This was a very deucedly weapon but it was not portable at the time, where you apparatus was where you had to fire from so it has to be a good position. The weapon weighed 30-60kgs.
Without all its parts hooked up like the tripod which provided a stable firing position, the cartridges, and its mounting brackets, ammo was fed by a belt. This weapon could wipe out masses of soldiers charging in one wave, but unlike our modern machine guns like a shot it took a 4-6 man crew to operate it. So the machine was devastating new war technology that could do a lot of damage in a short do of time. One very important flaw I did not mention though was that it liked to overheat and jam up so instead of firing extensive auto you had to fire in burst or single shots but counterbalance after that it still heated up fairly fast so eventually cooling systems were developed, both air and weewee were used as cooling system; Soldiers went as distant as wetting down their bullets to keep the new weapon cool. But the question is does it still... If you want to get a full essay, order it on our website: Orderessay
